Q. What is Buffalo State Athletics Giving Day?
Buffalo State Athletics Giving Day is an annual 24-hour giving campaign that inspires alumni, students, friends, faculty and staff, and supporters to come together, show their pride in alma mater, and provide essential funding to support current and future students. This annual event shines a spotlight on giving on the University and creates a sense of energy around philanthropy.
Q. When is Buffalo State Athletics Giving Day?
Buffalo State Athletics Giving Day is on September 27th, 2023 from midnight to 11:59 PM.
Q. Who can donate?
Anyone may donate. Donations through the Buffalo State Athletics Giving Day online portal to charitable nonprofit organizations are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit and debit card only. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab.
Q. What is GiveGab/Bonterra?
GiveGab/Bonterra is a nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofits to raise money, engage donors and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab offers a full portfolio of simple and easy to use products that allows organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.
Q.Does it cost anything to give through Buffalo State Athletics Giving Day? How much of my donation will the University receive?
There is a 3.5% processing fee and a 2.5% (+ $.30) bank fee for donations made using all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express). You have the option to cover these costs in addition to your gift. If you choose not to do so, the cost will be absorbed through the college’s administrative budget, leaving 100% of your gift to support students and to remain tax deductible.
Q. Who will receive my contact information?
The organization(s) you choose to support will have access to your name and email address. This information is used solely to send thank you messages, provide the option to receive future notifications, and to notify you of future activities.
Q. What if I already made a gift to the University this year?
Thank you for being part of the University donor family! We appreciate your commitment and encourage you to make an additional gift of any size on September 27th. We also need your help to promote Buffalo State Athletics Giving Day to others. We have created sample email and social media posts to help you do this more easily, which are located in the Ambassador Toolkit on the site.
Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?
Yes! Simply visit givebuffalostateathletics.com on your mobile device.
Q. Can I make a donation after September 27th?
Yes. Donations remain open on the site until October 2nd at 11:59pm but we encourage you to make your donation on giving day!
Q. Can I pre-schedule a donation for Buffalo State Athletics Giving Day?
You cannot pre-schedule your Buffalo State Athletics Giving Day gift, but you may make a donation to a participating nonprofit before or after the Buffalo State Athletics Giving Day. In order for your donation to be counted towards prize incentives awarded on Buffalo State Athletics Giving Day it must be made between midnight at 11:59 p.m. on September 27th, 2023.
